Screen savers cannot be run simultaneously. Please be sure to remove all previously installed screen savers from your machine before installing After Dark.
STARTING UP
Hold the Ctrl key down as After Dark starts up to open After Dark in the OFF state (disabled). The After Dark icon has an X over it when After Dark is disabled.
OPENING THE CONTROL PANEL
Hold the Ctrl key down when opening the control panel to reset all modules to their original settings.
SLEEP
Hold the Ctrl key down as After Dark goes to sleep to force After Dark to require a password before waking up your screen.
Hold the Shift key down as After Dark goes to sleep to make After Dark simply blank the screen and not animate.
AD-DOS
Page 10 of the manual is incorrect regarding Exclusive mode DOS apps. After Dark will blank Exclusive mode DOS apps, although it will not animate the screen.
COM PORTS
If you have a com port open continuously you can remove the com port number from the WatchComPorts= in AD_PREFS.INI, or you can turn off SystemIQ activity monitor in the When dialog. Otherwise the modules will blank and not animate.
INSTALLER
To have only some of After Dark's files installed, the INSTALL.INI text file must be modified. Files listed in INSTALL.INI in the form <FILENAME>= are optional. Removing the '=' from the end of a filename will keep it from being installed.
